“LA Exuberance,” an exhibition of artworks created by Tacita Dean, will be on view at Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles, from September 6 through October 14, 2106. The display highlights 15 hand-drawn, three-color blend lithographs printed and published by Gemini G.E.L.Engrossed by the idiosyncrasy of California clouds, Tacita Dean (born 1965, England) commenced her project of depicting clouds with different mediums — chalk on blackboards, chalk spray on slates, and overpainted postcards and photographs. Dean then challenged her accustomed practice and turned to lithography. Her final 15 lithographs despite appearing photographic are drawn crafted up from between one and three diverse layers of cloud imagery, published with combinations for the sky of up to six different colors for each run.Click on the slideshow for the sneak peek of the exhibition
