Works of Italian photographer Daniel Tamagni and Ghanian photographer James Barnor will be on view at the October Gallery, London, from September 8 - 30.This collaborative exhibition showcases Barnor’s photographers of London during the ‘swinging '60s’ and Ghana in 1950s, alongside works by Tamagni of striking fashion subcultures throughout contemporary Africa. The exhibition traces the style adopted by Londoners during 1960s and its impact in contemporary times. Tamagni depicts the renaissance sweeping through developing economies and the power of fashion to push economic and cultural boundaries today. Whereas, Barnor’s portraits depict the self-assurance and individualistic fashion trends that dominated the era of '60s.The exhibition follows the launch of two publications — 'Ever Young’ by Barnor and ‘Fashion Tribes’ by Tamagni.Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
