Paul Stolper Gallery, London, is hosting an exhibition 'Texture' by Her Majesty Queen Sonja of Norway and Magne Furuholmen, on view through October 15, 2016.'Texture' is an artistic collaboration between Her Majesty Queen Sonja and Magne Furuholmen in both literal and thematic way. Since one artist works with texts and the other with nature, the exhibition stands as an amalgam 'texture' (text + nature= texture).The portfolio of the exhibition consists four individual prints by each artists in an edition of 60, of which number 1 to 20 are available as a portfolio and the rest individually. There are also two prints in an edition of 20 made exclusively for the portfolio, signed by both the artists. Her Majesty Queen Sonja has been making editions of prints for the past five years, etching of her own photography on nature, while Furuholmen captured close-ups of rock surfaces and added to them photos of his own sculptures; resulting in a very close working partnership. They often would interchange each other’s plates and treat them in a non-proprietary way, mixing colors and techniques on each other’s etching plates, creating shared prints which diminishes their individual statements.The exhibition is on view at Paul Stolper Gallery, 31 Museum Street, London WC1A 1LH, United Kingdom.
