An exhibition titled 'Faces And Phases 10', showcasing works of well-known artist Zanele Muholi, and commemorating the 10th anniversary of her portrait series detailing black lesbian and transgender individuals from South Africa and beyond, is on view at Stevenson Gallery, Johannesburg and will run through October 14, 2016.In her initial days as an artist, Muholi was sorely cognizant about the lack of documentation that her community underwent, and its nonappearance from visual history, and this propelled her to create her series of black and white portraits. After her first image of Busi Sigasa at Constitution Hill, the artist has depicted over 250 portraits and is now generating follow-up images of her characters as they go through transitions in their lives. The exhibition is on view at Stevenson Gallery 62 Juta St, Johannesburg, 2001, South Africa.
