Jeanne Bucher Jaeger Gallery presents Zarina Hashmi's 'Life Lines,' which will run through November 5, 2016 in Paris.Working primarily on wood engraving with papers from around the world, the artist worked on cartography during her stays abroad. She experienced the multiple political conflicts and their side effects - the partition of India when she was just 10 years; the progressive loss of Urdu, her mother tongue; religious wars or displacement of borders including that of a separate India which resulted in the emigration of her family to Karachi giving rise to an irrevocable nostalgia for lost ground. Zarina's work is represented in major public collections in the United States, Europe and India. The exhibition is on view at Jeanne Bucher Jaeger Gallery, 5 et 7 rue de Saintonge, 75 003 Paris – France.
