Los Angeles County Museum of Art presents an exhibition “Beyond Bling: Jewelry from the Lois Boardman Collection,” which is currently on view and will run through February 5, 2017.Lois Boardman is a serious collector of jewelry, who has collected more than 300 pieces of contemporary jewelry. “Beyond Bling” showcases an extraordinary collection of contemporary studio jewelry from the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Out of the 300, this exhibition features 50 works which explores the use of non-traditional materials and techniques, the ways jewelry can communicate personal or political messages. The collection is the first of its kind to enter a museum on the West Coast.
