'Comfort Zone', an exhibition featuring the new works of Detroit-based artist Amalia Soto aka Molly Soda is on view at Annka Kultys Gallery, London, and will run through November 12, 2016. This is her second exhibition with the gallery. The exhibition includes recent selfies and videos displayed on TV screens, iPads, laptops, and print and vinyl images mounted on walls, as well as resin sculptures. Soda’s work does not pertain to traditional galleries and museums rather she has a significant online following for herself across various social media. For her video All by Myself (2016), featured on a monitor within the show, Soda has compiled 18 hours of footage taken from her MacBook’s PhotoBooth archive and publicly released the content that was never intended to enter the public domain. The exhibition brings together Soda’s exploration of instant texts, constant messaging, and sharing of information invades and permeates our lives today blurring the lines between public and private domains. The exhibition is on view at Annka Kultys Gallery, 472 Hackney Road | Unit 3, 1st Floor | London E2 9EQ.
