Opera Gallery in Seoul is mounting an exhibition titled “Raoul Dufy & Bernard Buffet: Two visionaries in the 20th century French art” that will be on display December 8-22, 2016.Buffet and Dufy stand out as being able to develop distinctive, personal visual languages that were enriched by the pluralist culture of Paris. The two artists witnessed the rise and fall of numerous ‘isms’ and movements, artistic and cultural, but did not fail to make their own voices heard in the midst of even the most dominant artistic trends. Dufy arrived at his signature style via a meandering course of artistic development. On the other hand Buffet, unlike any other, developed his unique style of Expressionism quite early on. His idiosyncratic brushwork and palette drew immediate attention and passionate reaction.The exhibition will go on display at Opera Gallery at 318 Dosan-daero, Nonhyeon 2(i)-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.
