The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in Toronto is hosting an exhibition by Yto Barrada titled “Faux Guide” on display through January 2, 2017.The solo exhibition by Barrada explores her recent work around fossil evidence, palaeontology, museology and natural history in Morocco. The exhibition centers around the film, “Faux depart” that focuses on fossil industry along the “Dinosaur Road.” The exhibition also features photographs of toys of children in North Africa. Through this, she attempts to highlight how history is constructed through the objects and artefacts in the museums.Yto Barrada is a French multimedia visual artist who divides her time between New York and Tangier.
