An exhibition of new work by Otto Knapp titled “Seascapes” is on display at the greengrassi in London through December 21, 2017.Over the years, the Los Angeles-based painter, who is originally from Osnabrück in Germany, has built a reputation for complex, detailed compositions. Her new series, “Seascapes” is a study in black, grey and silver — an examination of translucency and light. The effect is both eerie and embracing, creating a monochromatic world of stark but fluid creatures and environments. She experiments with a variety of subjects, both traditional and contemporary: modern dancers, female pioneers of the art world, interiors, landscape and avant-garde set design.“Silke Otto Knapp: Seascapes” is on show at greengrassi, 1A Kempsford Road, Lambeth, London SE11 4NU through December 21, 2017.For details, visit: www.greengrassi.comClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition
