Leeahn Gallery, Daegu, is hosting a solo exhibition of Taiho Kim, on view through December 30, 2016.Kim Tae-ho melts his philosophy, religion and his own experience into his work through extremely moderated colors and forms. Mainly color-based painting forms the basis of his overall workmanship, which is combined with canvases in which ambiguous images such as simplified flowers, birds, and chairs are drawn.The artist installed a black mirror all over the floor of the underground exhibition hall and hung a large canvas of soft monotone on the wall. The cold mirror is a warm, bright color that the canvas emits, and the canvas absorbs the cold, dark color that the mirror emits, creating a mass of installation work. The artist does not just merge the images, but composes them into one big part of the whole exhibition space. It is a formative device like a kind of stage effect for the ambiguity that encompasses the whole concept of this exhibition.The exhibition is on view at Daebong 1(il)-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, South Korea.
