MIT List Visual Arts Center is hosting an exhibition featuring the works of Brooklyn-based artist Andrea Crespo, on view from January 10, 2017 through February 19, 2017.Curated by Alise Upitis with Yuri Stone, MIT List Visual Arts Center, "List Projects: Andrea Crespo" features (intensifies) (2016), an hour long animated film that narrates the atypical development of Alan, a fictional young autistic male, from the first-person perspective. The film, inspired in part by the personal experiences of the artist, engages with autism as a simultaneously embodied and sociocultural entity. Alan is subjected to a range of tests and trials, manifest in terms associated with terror and alienation. Accompanying the film are Crespo’s drawings depicting Alan’s fantasies about machines and experience of his world — in his images of transportation, warfare, and terror. The exhibition is on view at MIT List Visual Arts Center, 20 Ames Street, Building E15, Cambridge, MA 02139, United States. For details, visit: listart.mit.eduClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek of the exhibition.
