The ongoing exhibition by Herbie Yamaguchi, titled 'and Stillness' at Books and Modern, Tokyo, will come to an end on January 21, 2017. The exhibition is based on Yamaguchi's new photo album/book of the same name. The album consists of photographs shot in eastern Europe between 1985 and 1996,. These photographs follow the daily life in the former Communist republics both before and after the fall of the USSR and is a testament to the vitality, diversity and energy of people and communities often depicted only as passive victims of an oppressive society.
