'Code of Conduct’ at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Sydney

4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art will host a group exhibition, titled “Code of Conduct” at the gallery’s Sydney venue.Curated by Toby Chapman, “Code of Conduct” features artists from across Australia and the Pacific. The artists explore the movement of cultural practices and commodities of Australia. Some of the themes of the paintings include piracy, bootlegging and appropriation. All of these are deployed by the participating artists in an attempt to contribute to a visual language, which is responsive to their local conditions. However, all of these also circulate within a global context.4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, commonly referred to as 4A, is an independent not-for-profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia. The centre fosters excellence and innovation in contemporary culture via commissioning, presentation, documentation and research of contemporary art. Their program is presented throughout Australia and Asia. They also make an attempt to ensure that contemporary art plays a central role in understanding and developing the dynamic relationship between Australia and the wider Asian region.
