Arario Gallery presents "Voice of Asia", a group exhibition featuring works by 22 artists at the gallery’s new space in Shanghai."Voice of Asia" is the inaugural exhibition of the gallery’s new space in Shanghai and features works by artists from China, Japan, India, Korea, Philippines, and Indonesia. The exhibition attempts to showcase the direction in which Asian contemporary art is moving and stimulate a discussion on that. The works on view reflect the regional complexities and realities that each artist faces. The works are also a mirror of their personal tastes. People across Asia face different realities and belong to a different society and these differences reflect the richness and diversity of the cultures. Despite living in the same continent, all artists have their own individuality and have different artistic practices and values and this is a key feature of the Asian contemporary art. The exhibition is an attempt to project this richness, vitality, and dynamism of art in Asia. The exhibition features works that blend reality and fantasy. Some of the works involve sound installations, creating a strong visual impact using sound elements; while there are works brimming with satire and dark humor, depicting events and happenings from everyday life. The exhibition will be on view through August 27, 2017, at Arario Gallery, 1F, No. 2879 Longteng Avenue, Xuhui District, Shanghai For details, visit: www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/arario-gallery/overviewClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
