AA29 Project Room, Milan is presenting drawings, video, film, and performance images by the artist duo Vinci / Galesi in the exhibition “The Land Of Flowers.” The works and the intervention realized by Vinci / Galesi at the Royal Palace of Caserta bear witness to how, with small but significant actions, it is possible to transform the land of fires, strewn with toxic waste and hostage of the Camorra, to the land of flowers, place in which flowers grow that art uses as an expression of pleasure and spirituality. The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalog with the images of the project, the texts of Gabi Scardi and the editor, as well as a supplement containing the documentation of the action taken at the Palace. The images and videos hosted in the gallery recount the performance that Vinci / Galesi have made, together with two groups of Scicli bardatories and a black Friesian stallion, starting from the palace gardens. Dressed in a cloak made with the traditional technique of Scicli's inflorescence (cities from which they come) adorned with flowers grown in the land of fires, the artists entered the Reggia through the telescope portico and then ascended the main floor through the majestic central staircase of the residence. Here, between the columns of the vestibule, they bent down, leaving the mantle symbolically given to the place, made up of what the land produces.Vinci / Galesi represents the partnership between Sasha Vinci and Maria Grazia Galesi. Central to their artistic practice is the use of the flower, which is used as an ephemeral entity destined for rapid decay. The floral element is in their work a restorative factor, a symbol of rebirth that takes responsibility for man's shortcomings and brings homage where there is neglect and moral negligence. In artistic work, the duo Vinci / Galesi give particular attention to the reactivation of forgotten urban spaces. The exhibition is on view through March 30, 2018 at AA29 Project Room, Piazza Caiazzo 3 20124 Milan, Italy. For details, visit: http://aa29.it/ Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
