Antonine Catzeflis is currently hosting a solo exhibition by Ronan-Jim Sévellec titled “Exposure.”The exhibition showcases 12 “boxes,” presenting small realistic worlds under glass that catch the eye and whose realization took him for some almost 15 years. These works of art not only rare but also very fascinating. This is Ronan-Jim Sévellec’s first large-scale show after he exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo and currently at Halle Saint Pierre. Ronan-Jim Sévellec is a Parisian artist, who is a model maker for films and an illustrator who creates beautifully detailed miniature settings. The artist specializes in box dioramas of tiny artists’ workshops and old antique rooms displayed in various eccentric and romantic locations around Paris. During his childhood, his father built him little theaters and characters with whom he grew up. Since then, the artist has conceded him, he has a tender look on small recycled objects, the toys of children who inhabit the spaces he has designed with astonishing dexterity for 20 years. Today, the works of Ronan-Jim Sévellec have become an evocation of time. In this regard, to dissuade the viewer from trying to locate his pieces in time based on the only decor, he intentionally abandons here and there some magazines, ELLE or Paris Match whose cover shows contemporary personalities. The exhibition will be on view through April 13, 2018, at Antonine Catzeflis, 23 Rue Saint-Roch, 75001 Paris, France. For details visit: http://www.antoninecatzeflis.comClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition. Founder Louise Blouin: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/artists/louise-blouin--2953510
