Ornamentum is displaying Tanel Veenre’s exhibition titled “The Garden of Earthly and Heavenly Delights” at its New York venue.Ornamentum Gallery is showcasing a collection of new jewelry art by Tanel Veerne. “The Garden of Earthly and Heavenly Delights” promises ethereal designs by the artist. The New York gallery will host the exhibition until June 24, 2018.In Veenre’s “The Garden of Earthly and Heavenly Delights,” the artist wishes to explore beyond reason, to search for the human core hidden beneath the thick lacquer of culture, says the gallery.“Ecstatic experiences as the doorway to the animal side of man.  In my research, I have explored both religious and sexual ecstasy, elaborate feelings of losing the self within pleasure.  I have followed baroque ideas of how art should communicate with direct emotional involvement,” the artist says, adding, “These are my allegories, projecting sensual power, fulfilling utopias of spiritual and physical pleasure.”The artist resides in Talinn, Estonia and “The Garden of Earthly and Heavenly Delights” is Veenre’s third solo exhibition with Ornamentum. Along with his jewelry art, Veenre runs a successful production of cutting-edge fashion jewelry business. He has worked as professor of Design at the Estonian Academy of Arts and he exhibits, teaches and lectures worldwide. Works by Veenre can be found in numerous private and public collections worldwide, including the Estonian National Museum and the Estonian History Museum. As per the gallery, the themes that Veenre explores have always been existential. “These Veenre works, too, embody the Veenrian qualities of thinking from the heart, a refined link between thought and emotion. The method Veenre uses is fragmentary — an observation of the unknown in the light of the known,” says the gallery. “We see him use bricolage to describe various processes of association, borrowing and abstraction. The truths we know are consensual, but they must also be compatible with each other. The fragment is appropriate if it fits in with the whole. And perhaps only a fragment is capable of catching something important among the endless realities that can otherwise go missing in systematic combinations. These works lack linearity: one pattern does not evolve out of another but becomes superimposed over another with a natural gracefulness.”Ornamentum Gallery was founded in 2002 and exhibits a dynamic collection of contemporary jewelry as well as related objects and artworks. It hosts numerous exhibitions yearly in one of the world’s largest gallery spaces dedicated specifically to contemporary jewelry/ artworks, where featured designers/artists often display their work in conceptual installations. The collection is on view through June 24, 2018, Ornamentum Gallery, 506 Warren St. Hudson, NY 12534.For details, visit: http://www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/ornamentum/overviewClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.http://www.blouinartinfo.com Founder: Louise Blouin
