Galerie Ludorff is presenting a selection of works by artist Christopher Lehmpfuhl, which will be on view through August 25, 2018.Most of the exhibited pictures were taken in Lehmpfuhl's hometown Berlin, where he still lives and works today. The show also features landscapes that the artist has recorded on some of his numerous study trips, including to Tuscany or the alpine regions of northern Italy and Switzerland.Christopher Lehmpfuhl’s paintings transcend the boundaries of sculpture, even though he has committed himself to the two-dimensionality of the canvas as the image carrier. Focussed on image details, the eye only perceives waves, whirls, and surges that make what we see become din. Only at the distance from the picture does the painted object reveal itself. But what remains is the moving and dynamic force, which gives the violence of nature as well as the urban a realistic image form. The spatiality that Christopher Lehmpfuhl lends to his paintings through this relief technique allows them to be lifted off the wall and turned into an object.Christopher Lehmpfuhl was born in 1972 in Berlin. He received his artistic training from 1985-1992 in painting lessons with Wolfgang Prehm. From 1992-1998, he completed his painting studies at the Hochschule der Kunste in Berlin under Professor Klaus Fußmann as a master student. In 1998, Lehmpfuhl became a member of the Verein Berliner Kunstler and the following year a member of the Kunstlersderderbund. In 2001/2002, he taught at the drawing academy Hanau and until 2007 took over the board work in the Artists' Association. In 2002, Lehmpfuhl became a member of the Neue Gruppe (Munich). And since 2003, he has been a member of the Norddeutsche Realisten. In 2004, he had a teaching job at the Academy Vulkaneifel, Steffeln. A lectureship gave him the Academy of Painting in Berlin, at the Lehmpfuhl from 2006 to 2010. His work has been shown in museums and galleries in Germany and abroad, most recently in the Marburg Kunstverein. The exhibition will be on view through August 25, 2018 at Galerie Ludorff, Konigsallee 22, 40212 Dusseldorf, Germany. For details visit: http://www.ludorff.comClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.http://www.blouinartinfo.com/                            Founder: Louise Blouin
