Anton Kern Gallery will host an exhibition of works by London-based Contemporary artist Francis Upritchard (b. 1976, New Zealand) from May 24 through June 30, 2018, marking her third presentation with the New York gallery.The show will include a series of clay pot sculptures created during Upritchard’s last winter residency at the Californian museum Lux Art Institute, as a collaboration between her and the artisans from the museum. Created on the pottery wheel, these sculptures embody faces emerging from the smooth surface of clay, augmented by painted marks, patterns, and glazes. Alongside these sculptures, a selection of small-scale works on paper will also be on view.
