ABC Galeria is currently showcasing the new works of Marcell Esterházy at their Budapest venue. Born in 1977, the artist’s works are a result of the tragic loss of his father, re-energize the most intimate family experiences. The title of the exhibition, Farkasvakság, refers to a state where the eye can hardly adapt to sudden darkness. It is evident from the similarity that the works are related to mourning, and that the processing of family events is less analytic-conceptual than the more poignant, poetic or fragile revelation of orientation.Farkasvakság gives a look at Marcel Esterházy's current art practice through clean, compressed works; the mourning experience of mourning, remembrance gives sad news to family history while the fresh event is reflected in the consistent and thoughtful form of the oeuvre.
