Galeria Nara Roesler, São Paulo will present "Morro Mundo," a solo exhibition by artist Laura Vinci. The artist will fill the gallery with a soft mist of white smoke, which is presented to the visitor through glass tubes before spreading through space. The installation also includes small golden objects: hourglasses, compasses, maps, and other gauging equipment attached to struts. Making references to uncertainty, the "Morro Mundo" dialogue with the present is intense. The installation is also composed of gold objects, which hang on the struts distributed across space, activating notions of ceiling height and distance from the walls. "These little objects are like hourglasses, compasses, maps, and other measuring tools that can help us travel," suggests Laura. The pieces carry small samples of garnet, stones that, in symbolizing impulse and determination, evoke a desire for transformation. The exhibition will be on view from February 24 through March 24, 2018 at Galeria Nara Roesler, Avenida Europa 655, Jardim Europa 01449-001, São Paulo, Brazil. For more details, visit: www.blouinartinfo.com/galleryguide/galeria-nara-roesler/overviewClick on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
