Visual artist, performance artist and poet Attila Csernik’s exhibition “Badtext” is on view at ACB Gallery in Budapest.Atilla Csernik’s installations and performances connect poetry with the body as a subject as well as an object. He is influenced by visual poetry and nomadic and intermediate art practice. In 1973, he joined the conceptual Bosch+Bosch group, which represented the mindset of the Yugoslav neo-avant-garde and the New Art Practice. His works are focused on letter and text, and their relation to the image and the bodyIn his work “Badtext,” he uses pieces of sequential art that are associated with Telex, which was an international system developed for the exchange of text messages that had a special meaning in the countries of the Soviet Bloc. To emphasize this, Csernik applies letters onto his body to symbolize the difficulties of communication of the socialist era and the indirect reference to chaotic conditions that rise from the moratorium of the actual meaning. This exhibition is on display through March 23, 2018, at ACB Gallery, 1068 Budapest, Király u. 76, 1068 Hungary. For details please visit: http://acbgaleria.hu/exhibitions/attila_csernik_badtext.335.html?pageid=338Click on the slideshow for a sneak peek at the exhibition.
